Grapefruit Basil Smash

Ingredients

1 cup fresh squeezed grapefruit juice

2 ounces gin (Hendrick’s is my jam)

5 large fresh basil leaves, chopped- plus extra for garnish

grapefruit slices for garnish 

ice

PREP TIME: 5 MINutes | COOK TIME: n/a | SERVINGS: 1 COcktail

1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the fresh basil and smash it with a wooden spoon to release the flavor. 

2. Pour in the grapefruit juice and gin. Shake vigorously and pour over ice.

3. Garnish with fresh basil and grapefruit slices. ( If you wish, you can broil the grapefruit slices with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar on each slice until slightly charred. Garnish glass with broiled grapefruit and serve. )
